Response from union: "Some do and some don’t..The wording in those that have it says if the FAA funds it..Don’t think that’s gonna happen".
I tend to agree with that statement.

I never heard of anyone actually getting paid out severance pay on a CWO contract. Not to be negative, but I seriously doubt the FAA would even consider it.

Actually we ARE going to receive severance pay............sort of. It will be called our unemployment checks. *evil grin*

I work Part time at weather job and local restaurant during the day. I won't get unemployment unless I quit the one job now.

When I separated from the military and started part time at MCO I was able to draw unemployment, while waiting for school to start and my BAH from GI Bill kicked to kick in. Worst that can happen is they tell you no and you lost a couple hours, or you find out that you can draw some unemployment.

we tried for years to negotiate changes to our CBA...only changes were modest raises above DOL. oh...once...they changed one section to favor the employer. H&W only for hours WORKED instead of hours paid. we immediately protested...got no response. after a year or two is mysteriously got changed back.

I'm being "Phased Out" at my weather office and want to make sure I'm getting my severance pay. Who do I talk to? Our Union rep quit last week so he is out of the question.

a) - PATCO or other union? b) - new union rep should have been assigned, if not, and under PATCO, let them know. c) - Do you have severance pay in current CBA? d) - You at one of the sites under the new contract or still on the old one? e) - Is your site going part time from full time, or is it just your hours being phased out?

a.) PATCO b.) I was going to be the new union rep, but then I found out I was being let go. c.) Yes d.) New Contract e.) I'm full time, being reduced to part time and then phased out, because I'm not a forecaster. Although the hours I would have worked didn't require forecasting.
