The federal labor laws need to make this clear, and that schedule manipulation/reduction of hours to avoid Sunday pay is an unfair labor practice. Won't happen with a split Congress and attempts at Shutdowns coming.

Won't happen with a split Congress and attempts at Shutdowns coming. Congress doesn't have anything to do with established law - they can change it, but they aren't the enforcement. Unfair labor practice is enforceable by legal action - and yes, PATCO should be all over this. As for looming "shutdowns" - we've already been declared critical safety infrastructure and won't be shutdown, even if most of the federal government takes an enforced unpaid holiday.

Well... That was short-lived.

Some of us check this site daily - and are waiting for news...

Oh there's been news, alright. It just doesn't show up here. I guess with some contractor threats made recently, can't blame anyone for staying quiet.

That issue seems to be resolved now.

Really? Part-timers are still not getting Sunday pay, and we still don't have a CBA...

I was referring to a different issue.
CBA is being negotiated now at least.

Yeah, my contractor got really adamant that I not speak to one of my previous contractors... Stopped short of a threat though. Starting to think these guys really don't like each other. I haven't heard squat about any CBA negotiations - it's late in the game for pay raises this October, 2023, let alone back pay increases from last October. FAA likes to see all new CBAs negotiated by end of May for October beginning.

Lance sent us a CBA proposal on 7/21 (assuming he sent same to all stations, VeroTech in our case) for us to review and edit. The proposal included pretty much everything we lost last year, plus a few extras that we didn't have previously. We sent it back with several edits which he said will be included. About all we can do now is cross our fingers and hope PATCO can figure out a way stand firm this time around. That's asking a lot I know from years of past experience, but... That said, isn't there a way that contractors can increase their government contract $ based on CBA changes?

That said, isn't there a way that contractors can increase their government contract $ based on CBA changes? There used to be a one page form they filled out and sent in with a copy of the CBA - the increase in wage and bene will be reimbursed by the FAA. That was 15 yrs ago +... Knowing union stroke in congress, it is likely a similar provision is in place. Whatever, the CBA is a contract between us - represented by the union - and the contractor... FAA shouldn't have anything to do with it, but if the contractors want to make a profit, they'll have to play the review game. This is the first I've heard anything concrete happening - PATCO has not been responding to my requests for information. Their updated website looks pretty good though.

I guess the FAA always had a say on the CBA? I'm not sure why? I'm any case it doesn't make sense. This is exactly why we need another union. Patco basically ignores us for 5 years, then pops up to say what a good job they're doing. It's all bunk!
Be careful what you post on the FB page, the admins are propatco. It's a cult following over there!

I worked for IBEX back in the day, with all the stuff going on in this thread, it's interesting to see that not much has changed in this industry.

I worked for IBEX back in the day, with all the stuff going on in this thread, it's interesting to see that not much has changed in this industry. Dramatic stuff has changed - different faces, different generation of stupid arrogance from FAA, Patco - contractors are mostly the same people minus Ibex. Ibex went rogue and is now blacklisted. USCWOA is leading the lobbying effort to keep the program alive and thriving. Many of us who were posting here 20 years ago are retiring or retired and some have just given up posting. FAA keeps taking away our toys and restricting what we can report. Perhaps what you are seeing is the same anger over the continual challenge to our jobs and airspace safety.
