I agree that there can not be a single site that is too busy weather wise for admin duties to be completed in a month. If anyone can identify a site that is THAT busy, please let me know b/c I love bad weather and I guess that is where I need to go! And holy crap, we all may agree about something on here (besides the fact we all want/need jobs)!!

There were times with Lake Effect in South Bend that it wasn't easy to get done but you still were able to get it done. It would be busy a whole week sometimes if the flow off the lake was just right and payroll had to be done in a timely matter. However like I said it still got done.

fu, when there is no other work around, you do what you need to, to keep what is a good job - maybe I'm too soft when it comes to accommodating my boss, but when I started doing the e-work at home (years ago) there was a lot less of it. Now, they are beginning to demand everything online, and I'm almost ready to tell the USDOL Wage&Hour about it - but the new contracts will alleviate the issue w/o complaining. If you ask, they "don't require you to work for free" - but they won't pay you to work off site and they won't pay for computer and internet... and sometimes I do feel like a slave.

Just wish it was that easy, Stardust - and I've said "NO" emphatically quite a bit...

I believe that if I were the SWO, and neither the contractor nor FAA would spring for the computer/printer/web access, then all be handled by the good old US mail. We're unlucky to be stuck at the top of the FAA tower, but lucky that the FAA provides a computer and high speed internet. We also have our own FAA email (first.ctr.last@faa.gov).

CSR has been providing computers to all its sites for years. Not sure about this, but they may be the only one doing so. They NEVER require a person to work for free. I think you will be quite happy if you are working for them on this new contract. All the rumors and speculations you hear on this board are nothing more than that. As I tell my kids, always hold judgment until you have had the chance to experience something firsthand.

Just wish it was that easy, Stardust - and I've said "NO" emphatically quite a bit... That's when you start the paper work with your Union for grievances, read the NLRB website, DL the forms for improper labor practices, and consult with your local NLRB office. The last thing a contractor wants is an NLRB mark on their resume when the next bids are up.
