Has anyone received calls from the FAA about doing a station inspection?

I know of none , especially recently. Last time our station was inspected was late 12' - early 13' before the FAA really tried to put the hammer down. Interestingly - we were moved "supposedly" to a better location to the tower based on VIS? (which some will argue was better in the old location) -- NO inspection since the move and I know of at least one CWO site in the Midwest that has NEVER been inspected.

Yes ours is on 5/7. FAA is coming by. Our station has never had the FAA come over to check the site out. The NWS has conducted audits before on several occasions. (Mostly checking our instruments and back up policies incase ASOS went down)

the last time...many years ago...the NWS did what I call a real inspection. I think the FAA came by one day with a pencil and clipboard. so...a guy trained to talk to pilots is going to QC a site with people trained in meteorology? right!
