I know the government being shut down sucks severely for a ton of people. I know furloughed federal employees and their families are facing very difficult financial hardships right now. I work in an ATC tower with many affected people, some of whom are now asking me to make calls to representatives to garner support for bills that would reopen the government. These same people told me (back when we were facing the FAA's axe) that they didn't want to get involved, or in the middle of anything when I asked for them to support CWOs. I feel badly for their situation, but at the same time I just don't know what to do for them.

If this shutdown lasts long enough, we get hit. The reserve funds will prob run out for the least liquid vendors in late March As much as they were two-faced, its in our interest to get a deal.

There's no doubt that the "partial government shutdown" is not good, particularly because it's occurring due to some rich folk having temper tantrums at the sake of us working class stiffs. There's also no doubt that the longer I live that I realize what goes around, comes around. Karma can be a bitch, so watch what you do and say and be helpful to others in their time of need (and hope like hell that it reciprocates). Sounds like a chinese proverb!

The people we help will remember us Skobie, but the government won't. Govt is entirely driven by the lust for power, no matter whose "side" you're on. And if our helping others interferes with their mania, they will come after us - that is NOT karma, it is simply evil.

Agree with northwx...the govt is in it for a power trip, always has been...this is the swamp...its a cancer thats been ingrained in DC for years...and trying to extract it, they whine and carryon and scream bloody murder and try to take it out on people like us...its like a exorcist try to expel evil...it;s got worse over the last 10-15 years...because i remember years back, it wasnt that way...but with the infiltration of stupidity, cluelessness, and my way or the highway syndrome, this is the world we have to deal with...which the founding fathers would not tolerate...Herr Himmler would be proud of these swamp rats
