Will we be covered if a person gets infected with the virus...seeing how nobody has any sick time accrued until new contracts are established...
given the following:"To ensure that working Americans impacted by the virus can stay home without fear of financial hardship, I will soon be taking emergency action, which is unprecedented, to provide financial relief. This will be targeted for workers who are ill, quarantined, or caring for others due to coronavirus."... President Trump...
theres no way we can take 2 weeks off without pay ...and no im not using vacation time to do it...thats BS...

The goal is to make us all slaves - this is coming from the likes of Soros and f(r)iends. They sold most or all of their stocks then created a panic that takes down markets worldwide - and our IRAs & 401(k)s. They stop travel, come for our guns - then force us into a new financial system that they control for their own benefit... Or, best case for us, Soros and the vast commie conspiracy backs off and just buys back into the markets with a sweet 35-40% discount and drives prices up so high they wind up controlling everything anyway - we get nothing. As Trumpian as I am, I see the "financial relief" as being more corporate welfare - you and I will see none of it, and fortunate to come out of it with our jobs. Kill travel and oil prices and Alaska is bankrupt and out-of-business. This conspiracy is much deeper than appears - and our jobs are part of the target. The only grace I see here is that the death rate for COVID-19 is actually less than that for the common flu - the panic is pure BS.

Testing has shown the virus to have a life of only about 4 hours on copper. Maybe it's a good time to use up all the pennies we've been accumulating.

ok...seeing how MIDWAY KMDW weather observers are out...seeing how the metars are all AUTO...are they getting paid...?? seeing how this just passed today...
The measure requires governments and private businesses with fewer than 500 employees to provide up to two weeks of paid sick leave for those who miss work due to coronavirus or for those who have to take care of family members affected by the outbreak.
Workers could take another 10 weeks off, if needed, at two-thirds of their pay.
Businesses and self-employed workers will be able to claim refundable tax credits to cover the expense....
all we hear is the usual virus stuff about cleaning facilities...are the contractors going to pay the sick time or are they going to figure a way out of it ...seems like nobody knows nothing...time for ignorance is long passed people!!!

So Midway is out due to coronavirus- they got an infection there?
I've heard chatter that FAA is considering a ban on most commercial flights- would that impact our operations/hours?

Is the senior weather admin shift considered non essential and should they just telework that day?

I thought "essential "employees remained on the job? It doesn't look good to shut down a CWO for 14 days. what's to stopping the FAA from saying since ASOS "worked" in AUTO mode for 14 days...why not let it run in AUTO...period did the tower get sent home? if not...why did the CWO not re-locate to the tower?

"worked"? Ya the sensors worked. Does't guarantee a good, on time surface weather observation or back-up of data, if their is a sensor outage. I am sure you know that.

I think they shut down the entire operation there, not just the observers, though I think they got the controllers back up working. Maybe they couldn't get a spare terminal?
If anything, this is going to help us long-term. In three years time if the economy is still bad, they're not going to want to get rid of jobs, and even if it's good, the FAA won't have time to do anything new, so we can say they haven't gotten things in place yes to replace us and we can get another contract perhaps and a few more years.

They're also looking at ways to avoid building maintenance - with the goal of condemning buildings as a way to shutter us - which is what they did to Gulkana (PAGK). Clueless is trying to invent ways to get around the ban on closures even now. Stay vigilant!

I was implying that the FAA says ASOS works to their satisfaction in AUTO mode. FAA is ok with ASOS in AUTO mode transmitting canned data which may or may not be valid

Word has it that the controllers are changing their work schedules to like a 5 on 5 off.to limit exposure to each other...and another thing the FAA is trying...is to take full time ops to a part time ops by abbreviating mid shifts or trying to eliminate the mids altogether, especially in lower traffic class c airports...hence that would take Full time CWOs down to part time CWOs...now after the virus crap is over, then just keeps mids closed....see this is the whole end game at getting at the CWOs and getting them closed down by 2023...

So the FAA affirms that CWOs are essential/mission critical service and writes a statement saying such...and gives it to us so we can use it when we get pulled over by the local pd because of total lockdown status...show them ur PIV badge and email ......UM...then the ultimate question is........IF we are so essential and mission critical...WHY in the hell are you always trying to shut us down and close the program...!!!! ?? and NO ATC lawrs isnt the same ...if anything its worse as so proven over the years...
