Are SWO's allowed to be in union? Yes SWO's are allowed to be in union, A few years back when Vero Tech had use they wanted SWO not to be in union. That did not fly. Vero Tech was usually up to no good.

I think when we were with Vero Tech the CBA excluded the SWO from having the right to file a grievance (thanks to Mr Tuso).....

I'm an SWO and a PATCO member. I am able to file a grievance against my company - no one at my station can represent the company for me, so I would have to deal directly with my supervisor (not at site). This is no problem, even when I have to represent my company in processing grievances of other employees. Done this for years - it works. No, I have not worked for Vero Tech. I appreciate the higher level of job security, the prescribed grievance procedures, and the higher pay and benefits the union affords us - and I really like collective bargaining.
