Any bets if the FAA Contracting Office will get the awards out in time, October 1,2019 or will they push back the start dates by 3 or 6 months? I've been doing weather observing for 24 years and seen how inept they are doing awards this close to the start date. If they get them out, just hope they give the contractors enough time to get the sites ready!!! My gut tells me they will delay the awards!!!

Any word on whom has what as far as contracts go...you would think by now, there would be some information available...PIV cards are expiring and wont renew until there's a contract that is dated into 2024....

I think we (and the contractors) will be lucky to hear anything before Sept 15 and that's if everything is still a go for Oct 01 (but I doubt it based on past history). That's how little time they give everybody, which use to be an even bigger deal when it was a brand new CWO site with no observers already on staff.

According to Jodie Blue with PATCO, all extensions have been used. That being said, the FAA makes the rules so I wouldn't doubt another extension to Dec 31st as has happened in the past. I hate the whole process and I wish they would just give our current contractor, TRG, the contract again. Unfortunately, we have never had the same contractor twice.

As of today the FAA has not reached out about an extension with the contractors.
