Is anyone else having major discrepancies regarding ALDARS? As in it taking a speci for TS or VCTS then transmitting the opposite or taking it out all together? It leaves the RMKS in though so you need to do a COR. But weren't we told NOT to COR unless absolutely necessary?
Or LTG ALQDS? WHEN ITS REALLY OCNL LTGIC NE AND SW? So many other things that are total BS.
Very, Very frustrating. This ORDER that we cant sequence it off is totally nuts. During a day of storms in the area forget about warming up food, going to the bathroom or even GOING OUTSIDE for a lot of the obs.
It totally has a mind of its own that is bi-polar.
Not to mention our initials are on every observation. Isn't that fraud?

amarillo LAWRS...former CWO...reports CLR at 1946Z...with no ALDARS input. ltg/radar screnshot at 1946Z tells a different story. then the LAWRS logs off for the 1953Z metar. It happens all the time here. We should be able to sequence ALDARS off once we have convective activity in the area

And the memo that its been "deemed accurate"? Ours cant even pick up a TS when its overhead! In 2019, we had 2 lightning strikes to our building, 11 minutes apart. ALDARS ignored the first one, and reported the second one in the raw data. I already had TS in progress at the time of the first strike. So I'll agree that ALDARS has missed LTGCG AT AP!

I think the AMA screenshot above...(among many others posted)...proves ALDARS is NOT accurate enough for operational use. ALDARS should have inserted VCTS in present weather and a remark LTG DSNT NE
