After reviewing the monthly data from asos for January...here is the poor operation summary... IF the CWO wasn't here...the following would have occured...(and no ATC won't do anything...if they were doing lawrs...that's already confirmed by the atcers here)
The present weather was missed 209 times...rain, snow the present weather of all freezing events...pl fzra fzdz...was missed 70 times VFR-IFR transition was missed 49 times IFR-LIFR was missed 10 times Bogus specials was stopped 43 times Clouds under 1000ft was missed 21 times...
The CWO corrected all the above and sent good data...all this correction(s) was transparent to the end user...BUT KEEP IN MIND the FAA wants to eliminate the CWO here and in their warped minds this is all acceptable...

Looking at February, ASLOP was just as bad as the above January...If it wasnt for the CWO...alot of bad data would have been spewed out... Present weather was missed 119 times...rain, snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, freezing drizzle...CWO corrected it...(and of course lawrs would not...given they are 250 up in the air...) VFR-IFR missed 46 times... IFR-LIFR missed 25 times...These are big safety issues... LONG LINE COMMUNICATION failures 101 times...ATC didnt even know the data was going nowhere...as long as they get it in NIDS, they dont care..therefor airlines and cargo airlines would have no data...CWO corrected this and kept ahead of this and no data was lost and all data was sent... Present weather sensor was out 23 times... There were 25 bogus specials that were stopped... And clouds below 1000 were missed 11 times... Nobody in their right minds would want to close down the CWOs...but then again, the FAA isn't in their right minds...
