no CBA?

Question- what happens if PATCO and vendors don't come to an agreement on a CBA? Does it go to arbitration, does the old CBA roll over, or do we revert to federal rules? I know striking isn't an option, so there has to be some sort of federally mandated negotiating option.
It's sounding like our vendor is refusing to negotiate at all, and I hope PATCO doesn't roll over.

It goes to arbitration - your contractor doesn't have a choice not to negotiate - they can either do it the easy way or the expensive way. This is both in the existing CBA and in federal law.

(215) 629-4970 Office (267) 777-9315 Direct lgeren@odonoghuelaw.com The numbers are good WX1, but both say, "the mailbox is full and cannot accept new messages, goodbye." I defended the Neimeisers, because I could usually reach them and/or they returned my calls. Henry has been silent for a month, and now Lance. Our CBAs are expired, and there is only the word of our contractors that "negotiations are on hold until the contract challenges are solved." While Henry did write in their last newsletter that they would try to make new pay & benefits retroactive to October 1, we have no assurance that is likely or even possible - or would the FAA buy into it? Meanwhile, we're losing buying power at ~8.5% annual rate official - a number that is skewed low by government to keep benefits that are indexed to inflation from getting fat raises (social security is getting only a 4.6% raise "to help hold down inflation"). Groceries are rising at higher than 12% in Alaska, and gasoline in my location is now $11.99/gallon. Meanwhile, brandon won't let us pump oil or mine, gave the salmon and the crabs and the forests to China, and is killing tourism. Alaska is bankrupt - and he's trying to make us all slaves. Sorry for the rant. PATCO needs to get after it.

Okay folks, time to rattle some cages - at least the ones they've thrown us into... It's a new year, the omnibus appropriations bill has been signed and the FAA has new money. Henry promised retroactive raises from October 1 - WHERE ARE THEY?? If we don't hear good news quickly, it's time to call in legal help - and go after the Union, not just the FAA. Where are our signed contracts Henry? The newest CBA we have expired last Sept.30. Henry said they were all negotiated and signed - our CBAs are contracts with our employers, not the FAA, and our employers should be ponying up our raises whether the FAA says okay or not. I'll be calling Henry Santana tomorrow and following up here...

Henry is voice mail only, again... Thanks auto, I had heard that at least one of the contractors was being honest. There are still legal issues that need to be discussed. I would think the FAA would be very reluctant to mess with the NLRB. Meanwhile, unleaded gas here is $11.99/gallon... as is heating oil. Chasing wood is not an option. Alaskans for global warming!

Being told it's at least 4-5 months out. Might be longer with the House temper tantrums causing shutdowns and defaults.

I'll be giving this issue to my Senator this week. As of yesterday (Feb 2, 2023) our contractor says CBAs have been signed and approved by the FAA. However, backpay to the effective date of the contract is still waiting on FAA funding. As soon as that funding comes through, everyone will receive their back pay from the start date of their contract. How you receive it, either as an addition to a regular paycheck, or as a separate payment, is up to each contractor.

WX1, my contractor is waiting on the FAA, who is asking for "new pricing" for contracts in at least one group. I did get through to Henry last week - he's still pushing, but now not promising anything. Henry said he would ask Lance about my question about labor law violations and FAA interference in CBA "approval". Meanwhile our CBA expired last Sept 30 and heating oil is now $15.00/gallon - 25% increase in one month. My Senator has not replied to me yet, but is working on getting the FAA more funding...
