Off the road system except for a brief period in the late winter when we open our ice road to the Dalton Highway. Air travel required the rest of the year if you want to go to a city. There is no cell phone service, no texting. Internet is somewhat primitive, but workable. Available housing does not have indoor plumbing. Shower and laundry available. Lots are available for building. RV living has been tried... Igloos not recommended. Auroras common. Can snow anytime of year, but sticks on ground Sept-May.
32-hour position starts as relief March 1, 2023, becomes 32-hour April 1. Works 12-8AM Th-Sa, 4PM-midnight Sundays.
Relief position starts April 1, 2023, works Tu 4PM-midnight plus fill-in as needed, historically averages 2 shifts per week. Night and Sunday differentials paid for both positions. Experienced weather observers preferred, but we're willing to train. Veteran preference, all other factors equal. FAA suitability for employment (security clearance) required. Successful applicants must be willing to move in when the ice road opens in February or March. Interested? I haven't scared you off yet? Send resume with c.v. to pabtwx@gmail.com please.

These two positions will be filled by end of December from applications received. Last chance folks. And the good news is, Starlink is now available here - so internet is 1000 times faster and only marginally more expensive, with unlimited bandwidth... Good enough for Skype calls and wi-fi cell, streaming video. Last call for the adventure of a lifetime. Experience the wilderness and what it means to live in a village.
