The FCT towers scheduled to go down APril 7th and on--- must have got some attention and funds from somewhere to be pushed back over 2 months.

Lawsuits from some of the towns affected. Hopefully the same will happen with CWO's. Like I said above the list is real and its subject to change. Still a few issues for the FAA to resolve.

Tip....If you call the NWS to confirm tell them that you have seen the FAA list instead of asking if the list exists. I spoke with the local NWS office and was told what you were told.

In order to keep my sanity in check, I've decided to stop reading this forum until we hear the OFFICIAL word from our contractor on what's GOING to happen to us. The amount of paranoia and fear mongering that I read each day is unbelievable. And so much of it is from UNOFFICIAL documents or sources. I do applaud the ones who are communicating with our local and national representatives in attempting to save our jobs. My hats off to all of you for doing that. Anyway, I just wish that the few of you folks out there would stop saying things like "we're done" or "the CWO program is over" etc....... I know things don't look rosy for us, but the bottom line is that we really don't know a damn thing for sure. Best of luck to you all!!!

snowspinner, does the New York state climatologist know that the FAA will not go outside to make snow depth measurements? If not, here is their web page: nysc.eas.cornell.edu/New York State Climate Office Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences 1114 Bradfield Hall Phone: 607-255-3034 Cornell University Fax: 607-255-2106 Ithaca, NY 14853 E-mail: nysc@cornell.edu

There going to count on the general public for accurate weather info.

She will not gain any respect from me until she, or other contract officials, or anyone in the FAA shows any decency whatsoever toward the CWO program. If she is so nice and friendly, why hasn't she put out any word about being funded through the FY. What's with all the secrecy? Did you ask her that!! She and the FAA and the unions all need to held accountable for their shortness, secrecy and plausable deniability BS they have been putting out. They should be ashamed, reprimanded and be held accountable for their actions, or lack thereof...in my opinion. Why don't you go ask your friend those questions! If she can't take a little heat from internet boards, she needs to grow a pair!

However, I am unaware of anything being funded for the current contracts beyond 30 May. Even if the FAA has received funding through 30 Sept., it does not mean they have to spend it. We still need to proceed as if the FAA will be closing all sites until we hear otherwises. We need to continue to write letters and more importantly, attract national attention, if possible.

Which ends on 9/30 this year.. Seems that the answer she is giving, is more of a "political" we already know answer and not the information we want to know, as to if the CWO program is going to cease to exist. That 9/30 funding answer is the same answer the FAA is giving to the media when they have inquired about it in recent days.
