Those articles mention essential personnel. We have always been considered essential in past govt shutdowns and budget battles.

I certainly hope you are correct because if we are considered at all essential it may possibly help our case even though we are just federal government contract employees rather than essential federal government employees.

We have been in the past chachiman, but that was when the controllers weren't LAWRS certified. Who knows what they will consider us now.

When I was preparing for a hurricane several years ago, I received guidance from the contractor. I was concerned about being allowed to go to work, once the area I lived and worked in was placed under a mandatory evacuation order. They told me, "weather observers are considered essential personnel; if stopped, just show law enforcement your FAA badge and you will be allowed to report for duty."

No Good! This bill that Sen. Roy Blunt is pushing is only for Federal Employees, not contract! We are being left out in the cold on this one guys! Unless we can all bombard Roy's office with faxes and phone calls, they have left us off the essential list, lol!
