A facebook page has been set up called FAA Contract Weather Observers ... been up maybe a week now.
Here is an interesting post found in the past 24 hours:
apparently the FAA is having some budgetary difficulties. Rumor has it that ATC personnel may be furloughed up to 22 days til the end of this FY. So it's not just those of us weather observers whose hours have been cut or who may loose their jobs if their station contracts are cancelled. It's the whole FAA...
