Had a couple of emails regarding the 7900.5C so here we go...improved or not? Or perhaps a lot of time spent for nothing.

Still conflicting definitions vs examples and once again NO examples for multiple locations of significant clouds, TS, or LTG. Much improved but still lacking.

I agree, it is much improved and a lot easier to read. But, they need to freaking let a weather observer write it. I think it would be ten times better and succinct.

I made a list or errors from 7900.5B. I checked 7900.5C and NONE of the errors have been fixed. Found a few more in the new version. in 5B...appendix E had moderate drizzle (DZ) as DZOA. in the new 5C it is listed as Drizzle. and why do they insist on continuing to have a chapter on manual obs? I don't believe there are any totally manual sites left! I was hoping they would have a chapter on manual backup obs in case of total ASOS outage. I have been in two FAA regions...and both had different opinions on what manual backup obs should look like! Also...they just pasted the manual ob form from altoona...which had errors...into 5C...with the same errors.
