Just prepping for our SRMP scheduled for Feb. 9th at 8:00am and am told that the SRMP will be headed by a Mr. Bill Ibbotson. Anyone ever encounter this guy, and what I can expect from him? Useful guidance and tactics also appreciated. Thanks

He was the FAA facilitator that everyone in the room at Rockford, IL turned on and he stopped the SRM, so obviously he can be rattled for sure.

I've rafted past Stanton & Tobin Park on Hondo Pass during monsoonal floods, broke my collar bone on Trans-Mountain & saw the Sun..."Snow Bowl" 2 months ago (all in El Paso)..How did your SRMP go?

About as to be expected. I was interrupted twice during my 15 minute statement, which the facilitator told me just before walking up to the podium that I could only talk about local weather phenomena. The panel identified several safety hazards and then after a quick break we came back to a sheet of paper defining what a "hazard" "cause" and "effect" was, worded such that nothing you identify could be considered a "hazard". He wasn't in the business of preventing death, he was only interested in mincing words. If anyone gets Bill Ibbotson for their SRMP I highly recommend including something in your statement like "Mr. Ibbotson is going to move the conversation away from hazards at every turn, he will not remain neutral, and definitely has an agenda here...and he will prove me right". Call his bluff! I wish I had known exactly what he was going to do prior to my srmp. It was a disaster, the ATC and Pilots in the room turned on him and at the end Mr. Ibbotson tried to get some guys to go out to lunch with him and they rightfully refused! It was a glorious moment, but he did eliminate all the hazards the group identified. Kangaroo court all the way
