Finally got our new CBA today and noticed with regards to H&W that it will be paid to a maximum of 80 hours per pay period. Our pay periods are bimonthly and full timers work up to 96 hours on some pay periods. The 80 hour max will reduce full timers from 2080 hours which I thought we were guaranteed to 1920 hours per year.

Pay periods should have zero impact to a persons H/W. I wouldn't be surprised if the contractor is still collecting the full 2080 hrs per year for each full time employee.

I found a sigificant change in our new "master" agreement. Where seniority formerly took presedence on vacation conflicts...it now says whoever puts in for it first gets it. in other words..if a newbie with 1 year with the company puts in for a particular vacation period and a person with 5 years puts in for the same period...and only one can take it...the newbie gets it since he or she put in for it first. what good is it to have seniority? this is the second time tuso has done this to our station. makes changes to the contract but doesn't bother to tell anyone.

Tuso sucks. He lets the company control the CBA and doesn't fight for anything. Our new CBA is full of changes that take away previous benefits with nothing in exchange for it. Wow $1.00 more an hour, big deal. That doesn't make up for the total losses we took in personal days and H&W...

The wording is a little quirky on this but what I'm pretty sure it is trying to state is that you will be paid H&W on all hours excluding overtime. We had a lot of overtime last year due to manning issue and we were paid H&W for all hours worked excluding overtime. Not assuming ours or word the same, but I think they are pretty similar.

Lighten up on Gerry Tuso... He's getting us big bucks & annual raises. We're paying him to negotiate for us - do you really want to do that for yourself? FAA wants to see a negotiation - in order for them to approve the extra cost to the FAA, they want to see a little give back from us: So... we got 3% pay & H&W increases each year for 5 years, but have to give back 4 of our previous 7 personal days, which cost were rolled into the pay raise for the first year (4%+)...; net loss - the H&W for the 4 days personal given back, and the provision for H&W for all hours paid; net gain - big bucks raises. Our contractor (and the previous 3 contractors) want all the CBAs the same for all their stations to simplify their bookkeeping. We're still getting H&W for all hours paid except overtime and holiday pay to a maximum of 2080 hours per year, starting Oct. 1, 2014.

Without the give backs, I doubt we would have gotten a 1% pay raise... We're net ahead better than 2 1/2%. Official (officious balderdash) inflation rate is about 1%.

Skclr, 26 pay periods a 80 per period = 2080 hours of H&W... What the H&W give back does worst is hurt those who want to cash their vacation hours instead of taking vacation - they will lose the H&W on cashed vacation unless they work less than 80 hours per pay period.

losing H&W on holiday is a big deal for part-timers who don't come close to the 2080hrs worked per year. Giving the company 13% of our H&W to line their pockets with is BS too!

Jerry focuses on the Pay because that is more money for the union, so he is happy to exchange benefits for pocket money

as usual, it came back smoke and mirrors. we were told a "majority" approved the vacation change. majority of who? the union members? the contractors?

Union members have no vote so he's a liar when he says the "majority" voted for anything. All negotiations are just between Jerry and the contractor and has nothing to do with the members

how's that union bs looking right now. Pretty damn good. My site TOTALLY kicked ass last yr when the govt was supposedly going to shut us (the whole program) down. We got a 4% increase with everything included (VAc/Personal). We get an additional 3% this upcoming (OCT) fiscal year. You don't wanna know what we get for fringe... The union for our site is great.
