Obstroller was too busy at 1509Z to even think about present wx/ or they didn't cover BLDU in that "non degradation" course -- and he/she needed more time to think about it. This is going to be comical and it's only 10-11 hours into this debacle.

It has to be blowing dust. I lived in Lubbock from 1956 thru 2005. So they have no idea how to report it.

here we have the highly trained obstrollers taking specis....because they want to? then it appears there might have been a legit speci required ref the BKN023 not showing up until the 1253 metar.

I can see the tower telling inbound/outbound traffic..."yeah...you got an overcast layer at one thousand six hundred feet..." as aircraft engines start misfiring as they fly through the overcast layer of BLDU... this is a potentially dangerous situation! Bet a letter to the editor of the local paper about this might stir up a hornets nest. let's see the FAA explain away this.

this is not one of the 14...but typical of an already C site taking over from AWOS and it's monkey see..monkey do. ref this AWOS not having present weather reporting capability...so neither does the obstroller. so this former B site ends a TS...then puts LTGCG in remarks. I could cut him/her some slack if it were dsnt ltg. but they don't say. we don't know the frequency or the location. these folks don't know what they are doing...never did...never will.
