You know what? There isn't any rain on the radar near Lubbock. That could be a trace of dust in the rain gage. Especially with those winds. Lubbock is a 24 hour tower, it did not go part time. I wonder if ATC OID's sign off automatically after 9 hours if someone forgets to log in.

As for Lubbock, if you look at the Z time, all those autos are during the day, not late night. They apparently decided to leave it on auto.

Maybe Lubbock ATCT was ordered not to touch the ASOS because CWOs were coming back. But it finally went off AUTO after 5 METARs of AUTO with BLDU, in the middle of the day.

this obstroller actually added weather for a time to account for the vis > 7. but then he/she got lazy the last two metars. oh...and did I metntion they missed the 2355Z metar? no degradation. quality obs...
