lynchburg, va, atct, fails to back up missing wind. when these people do this it wrecks the climate for the day as far as average wind speed...and possibly peak wind data.

Assuming hlsto2 you are making reference to this incident ... I would cool it on your label of the controllers there (past and present).
All 47 passengers and two of the three crew members on board the flight died. Comair released the passenger manifest on August 29, 2006.[16]
Most of the passengers were US citizens from the Lexington area, ranging in age from 16 to 72. They included a young couple who had been married the previous day and were traveling to California on their honeymoon.[17]
A memorial service for the victims was held on August 31, 2006, at the Lexington Opera House.[18] A second public memorial service was held on September 10, 2006, at Rupp Arena in Lexington.[citation needed] The Lexington Herald-Leader published a list of the victims with short biographies.[19]
The Flight 5191 Memorial Commission was established[by whom?] shortly after the crash to create an appropriate memorial for the victims, first responders, and community that supported them. The Commission chose the University of Kentucky Arboretum as its memorial site.[

this one is scary...lexington tower is ignoring possible freezing pcpn ref the ice accretion groups from 0354 to 0554. not that they would have a clue as to what those groups meant. this is why ALL ASOS sites should be manned by professional observers instead of untrained people. if they recognized these groups...someone should have gone DOWN THE ELEVATOR and OUTSIDE to confirm what was really happening...as a CWO would have done. I'm surprised the NWS didn't call to get confirmation. there is no excuse for this.
