reliable AWOS in the TX panhandle...dewpoint goes from 08 to M17...now an obstroller would not know this is bad data...but a CWO would have backed up the dew point.

Our ASLOP reports ice accretion for even light frost... We just turn off the auto rmks for precip... What do you think, should I count that as an error when I see it? I mean, there were no beginning times for any precip, and skies were clear for hours. I believe I've seen that more than once, and we are just getting started on the wintry weather season.

While I agree with coco's cynicism, I'd count it as an error - as is the practice here. We don't like bogus data - from the ASLOP or our observers... but be gentle with us! Design flaws shouldn't be counted against us.

If you are saying no one reads the QC work TCU2U2 & Histo2 are doing for the ATCs - I read them daily while between obs. This is important work and may be crucial when it comes down to more battles... 'nuf cynicism - does the FAA read them? I believe they have and are very sensitive to the problems being shown - this is likely the reason we are under much more scrutiny than in the recent past. Keep up the good work folks
