My union rep just called me, after hearing back from Jerry Tuso. Apparently, the FAA will be meeting in Austin, Texas, next week to discuss the contract weather program. Jerry will have more news for the CWOs in the field, at the end of that meeting. So they need to go to Austin, TX to discuss the CWO program? Guess it makes sense, an hour or so to Six Flags and those roller coasters can be tough to ride over a conference call. |

This Austin meeting sounds like BS. Doesn't the sequester limit travel for the FAA staff?

NATCA's Central Region VP has confirmed that the FAA intends to close all CWOs. This came from our local NATCA rep.

Not according to the agreed upon service standards that are currently in place. That is why they are trying to ramrod the plan through.
Hokie can you get the doc from him so some of the experts here can check the fonts or tell us how they could make the same doc if they had the time to do so.

Like it or not-- in this daily changing world of info for the rise or demise of the CWO program,, one must be straightforward and even keeled. Atlwxguy's info makes the most sense. Debunks's the NATCA email (which was sent) which even contains AK sites (which will never happen -- AK LIVES by the plane) as a leverage tool . Doesn't change his info-- which many on here have done. I believe the validity of the Natca email and ppt on the NWS screen.. BUT WHEN was it posted??? Politics from the start was a key when the ppt from March 5th listed all CWO's belly up outside AK and the stakeholders to be notified. HELLO!!! Majority of the stakeholders have not been notified as far as I know. Reason for the delays in the possible MAy 1st closures??? The full out closures are not happening,, -- certainly not on the time schedule NATCA has released. IMHO --Additional cuts are coming (heard from multiple sources) but the entire program being gone makes no sense but was used up front for leverage purposes and still is. I believe the FAA still doesn't know what sites will close/ part time/ or even for sure the sites scheduled for May 1st closure, but expect more closures to come later then what the FAA says.

Ya know back handed swipes at people doesn't help. As you are and most of us are, this thread was starting nearly 2 months ago, it involves peoples lives and income. Some people were just tired of the cloak and dagger and hush hush. So try to keep those type of comments to yourself or in private messages. |

You mean the people that were accusing me of trying to panic people last week? Like I said then anyone can believe what they want to believe. Did anyone ever see a link from atlwxguy about where his scenario came from?

The only + links I have gotten in nearly 15 years of work in this field is contract links stating each sites 4-5 yrs re-ups. |

I think people just started getting tired of the constant rumor mongering and just wanted more proof then just one person's say so. Also you can't provide a link to a conversation, but what you were saying was it was email and didn't want to provide proof, and then you said that it contained to much info we didn't need and wouldn't release it. Again everyone is just damn tired of being strung out and frustrated. You can't plan your life on rumors, hell I just moved cross country to take the position I'm in, and trying to plan a move for the rest of the family, but I can't and I think we just want more truth and less rumors. |

Thats kind of my point...I and others posted docs that we were given by people that shared them with us and were told here that they were fake or doctored. We were asked to provide links which didn't exist. If those docs weren't posted here everyone would still be in the dark waiting for the FAA to resolve "the protest" before awarding the contracts.

Can you understand that PowerPoint presentations can be easily doctored, and the observation of the different font and how if you removed those slides how the file flowed better could be interpreted that maybe, just maybe it might be doctored and give people a glimmer of hope that their jobs aren't being slashed. Also the changing information from certain sites not in the PowerPoint to be cut then all of sudden showing up and numbers not totally matching. That's why people have started questioning things and not just running with statements and files people that have been provided. |
