I see this glass as half full rather than half empty. At least we still have our jobs. Well, we used to get a pay raise every October 1st. 2012 was the first year that I didn't get one on that date (one came in December, not retroactive). Add 2013 to that list now.

Who do you work for Tornado? Most contractors gave raises in 12 and 13

Never heard of a gov contract wage going into effect in Dec either. They go into effect 10/1.

We have not had a raise in 4 years. Jerry tells us our contractor refused to negotiate wages, to leave as is.

Then your contractor, skywatcher, should be slapped with a not negotiating in good faith petition through the Dept of Labor. After all, wages are kind of central to bargaining in good faith. Try it, it works. They'll come to the bargaining table right away once they get all of the paperwork from the DOL to fill out as to why they refuse to bargain.

That is what we pay union dues for....PATCO/Tuso should be filing the complaints with DOL...not us. Some of you folks just don't get it...Tuso is useless....granted, he gets some things for some sites and they are happy as pie but I would venture to say the bad contracts far outweigh the good. We are still sitting here not knowing if we have a new contract and if we do have a new one, where is it and what's in it? We work for CSR and don't know if they are going bye bye if CJR loses their groups. I tried to complain about it in an earlier post and I was made to look like the bad guy. All I ask for is a little communication from the guy and some of you on this board bit my head off. I'm sorry if I am bitter but, come on, all the guy has to do is send out an e-mail explaining what is going on. I don't think that is too much to ask for. There...I've had my say...case closed....

Hey coco I hope you're not saying I was one of those that bit your head off I really didn't know what you were talking about with that whole cba/contract thing. I have to disagree with you about Tuso being useless. Our wages have gone up almost 20% in the 5 years that the current contractor has had our site. Tuso has to negotiate with the different contractors and it's just a fact that some of them are scumbags. We all know who the shitty companies to work for are and if I was in your position or skywatchers position I might feel the way you do about Tuso.
Since CSR is the reason CJR had the contracts pulled they will be gone as well. Everyone in DC that handles the contacts has been furloughed so don't expect anything to get done until they get back to work.

In case some of you don't know how the CBA's work the FAA has a window for the contractors to submit wage adjustments on the contracts, it usually has to be done by the end of Aug and the new wages go into effect on 10/1. Jerry usually negotiates with the vendors in July or Aug so they have time to get the wage adjustments to the FAA. If you haven't heard what your new wage is chances are your contractor didn't negotiate with Jerry in time to get a new wage approved or if they did negotiate they decided to keep wages unchanged.

fu...everyone has their own opinion and I respect yours. Like I said...some sites are happy as pie with their contract and that is great for those folks. He just doesn't communicate. That is my major gripe with him. I'm not upset about our pay....we make great money. I'm not concerned about vacations...4 weeks is just fine although the first year we went with PATCO and got rid of SEIU he negotiated away a week of our vacation and six personal days. No complaints, really, about any of the benefits. Just the lack of communication from the guy. It just irritates the hell out of me how he continuously leaves us in the dark. I guess it is because of Ken Schneider, the rep for SEIU. It took 2 years to even get him to return a phone call to us. Thanks for the info in your last paragraph. I figured that was the case. Thanks for your response.....

Try calling Jerry - I'm confident he will respond - be ready with all the questions and concerns and ask him how he can help. Comparing PATCO to SEIU (we've been in both) is like comparing night and day.

Jerry always returns our calls and answers our questions. The SEIU were bullies.
