How did the FAA come up with the 109 figure? The last bid had 141 CWO's on it, 21 are in AK.

who knows how they came up with anything? if they really wanted to play with numbers, they'd know the whole CWO program is a minute percentage of their budget...

Step back and look at the past several months. Contracts "awarded" (whatever word you want to use) in Mid Dec. We even spoke with our new contractor, as Iam sure many did. Then the extension till March 31st. Then the supposed protest meeting for FEB 6 etc etc etc. It seems the program was on the up and up and now to this. The CWO program very well may be shot,, but a political ploy makes more sense.

I used to be a Republican voter, but now I will vote independant if at all. Just fat cats collecting their share but somehow not caring about anyone else. Obama is to blame too. I seriously doubt this country will be around in 200 years.

I just saw the power point doc out of the western region. I can't upload it to the site So I will copy some of it here:
The first page is a cover sheet
The second page talks about the 14 sites closing on 5/1
Page 3 WSA CWO Closures - Expected
-Regardless of sequestration status, FAA COO has decided to transition all remaining 109 CWO sites to LAWRS
-Official notification expected expected by 3/15/13 with closures to be completed by 7/31/13
-Alaska sites will likely remain operational
-Ongoing discussions between FAA HQ's and NWS
-Program manager will revise and publish applicable FAA Orders without circulating for review due to expedited time frame
Page 4 lists all the CWO's in the WSA that will close AZ CA CO HI MT NV OR UT WA (all of them)
Page 5 Issues And Concerns
-Lack of identified or funded source to conduct certifications inspections or training
-Testing and Certification requirements need to be identified ASAP
-Stakeholders need to know now what their roles and responsibilities will be
-Clear direction from the HQ Program Office is needed
-Need plan and funding source for furniture, equipment, and telco removals
