Same here...except...I think they put in fake initials. I wonder if they will make them use their REAL initials if it comes down to them having to log on as observers?

Is it really helpful to be spreading rumors that seem to be based on thin air?
I have yet to see anything in writing about any of this, either from the FAA or from any contractors.

You might think I'am crazy-- but here goes---
-Regardless of sequestration status, FAA COO has decided to transition all remaining 109 CWO sites to LAWRS -Official notification expected expected by 3/15/13 with closures to be completed by 7/31/13
The mention of "regardless of sequestration" is clearly a leverage making device. Who would really believe that a CWO program that's been around as long as it has goes away during a sequester --- but the sequester has nothing to do with it?? PLease.
This entire process imho is like chess match. In this day and age with social media/rapid spread of info (factual or fiction)--- this memo was leaked on purpose and with motive. The FAA had to know it was going to get spread-- otherwise it wouldn't be known yet. The next week or so is a reactionary (test) period that will be watched by the FAA. This is a big step for them also. We do nothing, checkmate. . If we spread the news via all the options available we at least can say we fought a good fight and maybe get our "Queen" back. I could be wrong but I don't believe the demise of the CWO program is done just because of this memo.

Someone posted a letter that was sent to congress seven years ago, it might help to make sure it goes out to media sources airlines and congress

I agree wxobs1; the media is our friend in this. They get wind of this and actually do a legit story with opinions of a CWO and controller and I think the crap will hit the fan. Also, why don't we make the subject line of any letters we send to congress, media etc.. something like "Planes will crash". That will get their attention immediately, granted we may have some FBI people knocking at our doors.

The way this whole thing is coming across is a scam by the White House. Look at the stock market again today. The economy is looking up. We are being used as guinea pigs, scap goats just to cover his ass for his false claims. We know there is more than enough funding for the FAA. Why did he just throw away that $250 millon to Egpt. & $340 million to his insurance friend. My current contractor has been trying to get information from the FAA but said he has been given a deaf esr.

Can anybody verify that this ppt is even real and written by the person on the first slide? Good question. Under "properties" of the file, the "summary" tab lists the author as "MTONEY"; and the "date created" as "1/28/2005"!

I saw the creation date but figured that was when the slide presentation was first developed. It has another name for the last one who edited the presentation and the last time it was printed. I'm just getting so many conflicting stories it is unreal.

Well, if we are being used as guinea pigs, we're going through a ton of worry right now for no reason, but that's better than the alternative, which is no job in a few weeks/months.
I'm already preparing to lose my job this year.

My ATM told us that training and furloughing his employees at the same time would make recertification a long and difficult process.

I googled her, and found this: Anne Kusaka Lead Planner Federal Aviation Administration 800 Independence Ave SW Washington Washington, DC 20553-0001 United States

Just got off the phone with my ATM. He just finished a telcon with the region (Central) office and brought this up. He was told that there are "nine airports going LAWRS and the controllers are in training and the CWO have been notified." He continued "I was told everything is just rumor and to just keep doing what you're doing." Anybody else get a similar response?

This is just a thought, and it has happened in the medical field already. The rumors of private observers may not be too far off base. Get rid of the plus $25 an hour, then rehire at $12 to $15 when the smoke clears. It all goes back to union or not. Unions are good for wages, but can also price us out of the market too. As we can see so far, where is our union protection now. All we have heard is I will check into it.
